The Head of Web Design & Marketing at iSharpDesign.com Gareth Payton, has always said that he will do anything to help charity and we know he loves a challenge of any kind. We recently discovered through general banter that he also isn't too keen on heights. So this got us thinking.
What would be the best charitable event he could do? We thought that an abseil off a high structure would fit the bill perfectly on all fronts. Luckily we didn't have to look too far because Manchester United provided the location with their stadium Old Trafford. In aid of the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Gareth completed a 140ft free air abseil from the top of the stadium onto the pitch.
Speaking immediately after landing we asked Gareth how it went, to which he told us, "I'll never forget this day for as long as I live. I've conquered my fear of heights and I've just seen Old Trafford football stadium from the best view imaginable. But more importantly I've raised money that will pay for brand new equipment that will improve the quality of lives of the children at the hospital."
The whole team here at iSharpDesign.com would like to say a big thank you to everyone who sponsored Gareth in the abseil.
